REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANJARNEGARA -- Around 750 homestays in the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area, Banjarnegara, Central Java, have been fully booked by tourists keen to watch the show "Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) VII" on Aug. 5-7, 2016.
"The 750 homestays are spread across eight villages in the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area. We are grateful that the DCF will help to sustain the Dieng society residing in the districts of Banjarnegara and Wonosobo," DCF VII Committee Chairman Alif Faozi stated in Banjarnegara on Wednesday.
According to Faozi, since the 750 homestays are located in proximity to each other, they have been booked by prospective tourists keen to watch DCF VII, most of which are located in several villages in the district of Wonosobo.
Nevertheless, he said the DCF has also prepared a camping area for tourists who were not able to book a homestay.
In addition, Faozi appealed to other residents, whose homes are not homestays, to accommodate travelers in need of lodging.
"For the people whose residences have not been used as homestays, we urge them to make the necessary preparations for the benefit of the travelers who need lodging," noted Alif, who is also chairman of the Tourism Awareness Dieng Pandawa, Dieng Kulon Village, Batur District, Banjarnegara.
He admitted to the rapid increase in homestays in the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area as their numbers had continued to increase every month.
To this end, he cited as an example the Dieng Kulon Village where the number of homestays had reached 120, while 30 more were being built.
"If you are not yet registered, and some of them have signboards. Maybe, they still tried first," he added.
Faozi expects the performance of DCF VII, which is an annual travel agenda, to further boost tourist visits to Dieng Plateau.
"Especially at this time, 'embun upas' or the frost flower starts to bloom in Dieng in the morning, so it can be the main attraction for tourists," he pointed out.
Nevertheless, he urged the tourists to carry warm clothing, such as sweaters or other body warmers, as the temperature when the dew falls can drop below zero degrees Celsius.
