REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO --Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie handed over a plan to develop floating docks in the province to Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan in Jakarta recently.

Habibie remarked here on Wednesday that the construction of floating docks in Gorontalo was vital to connect strategic tourist attractions in the province.

"Developing the tourism sector is not only related to improving tourism attractions but also the transportation infrastructure to ensure connectivity to tourist destinations," the governor noted.

According to Habibie, there are six tourist attractions in Gorontalo where floating docks should be constructed.

The six tourist attractions in the province are the Olele Marine Park, whale shark attraction in Bone Bolango, Blue Merlin, Pulo Cinta in Boa Lemo, Pohon Cinta Beach in Pohuwato, and Huha Island in North Gorontalo.

In the meantime, spokesman of the Gorontalo Tourism Office Djamal Nganro, who accompanied Governor Habibie to meet the transportation minister in Jakarta, said the minister of transportation had given serious attention to the plan to construct floating docks.

"The transportation minister at the time said he would give priority to the plan to develop floating docks in Gorontalo," Nganro added.
