REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO -- The Gorontalo administration is optimistic that Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival to be held in Central Sulawesi and Gorontalo provinces in September 2015 will be able to boost the tourism industry.
"One of the positive impacts of Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival is to promote the tourist destinations to domestic and international tourists," Head of the Gorontalo tourism and cultural office Abdul Gafar Dude noted here on Monday.
He is of the viewpoint that the events will also help to develop the local economy in Gorontalo.
The Gorontalo administration will provide accommodation and transportation facilities to the guests attending the Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival.
The Gorontalo administration will also organize the Otanaha Festival to entertain the guests of Sail Tomini.
Otanaha Fortress is a famous tourist attraction in Gorontalo city.
The international maritime event of Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival 2015 were jointly launched by nine ministers, two governors, and two district heads at the Epicentrum Hotel, Jakarta, on May 5, 2015.
The annual event is themed "The Pearl of Equator for Future Life" and its logo depicts a Phinisi traditional sailing boat from Sulawesi.
The logo and theme are in accordance with the government's vision of developing Indonesia, the world's largest archipelagic nation, as a maritime axis.
