REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Hotel services in Jakarta and Bandung will run as usual when the two cities host the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) from April 19 to 24.

"The AAC will not impede the activities of hotel guests," spokesperson for The Hermitage Hotel, Karina Eva, said here on Saturday.

However, the hotels where delegates to the AAC's 60th anniversary celebrations will stay will implement instructions from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the State Secretary and the Jakarta provincial government to ensure the success of the event, she pointed out.

"We have made preparations in accordance with the instructions from relevant parties to provide maximum services," Eva affirmed.

In addition, spokesman for Mulia Hotel, Romy, shared Eva's view, stating that all hotels chosen by the government to serve leaders and delegates of countries participating in the event must provide the best services.

"We have been instructed to provide maximum services in accordance with the standard services for VIPs. According to the instructions from the state secretary, the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the government of Jakarta, security in and around the hotels will be stepped up, but will not disturb the activities of other hotel guests," Romy explained.

In addition, he expressed hope that the AAC will serve as a means to promote Indonesia as a secure state.

"We all hope that the success of the AAC will serve to promote Indonesia as a secure state so there will be an increase in the number of tourist arrivals," he noted.
