Germans interested in Indonesian maritime tourism

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON -- Several German tourism operators said that people in Germany are interested in Indonesian maritime tourist attractions, especially diving activities.

The operators are promoting several maritime tourist destinations at the International Water Sports Expo "Boot Messe" in D'sseldorf, which began on January 17 and will go on till January 25.

According to the Third Secretary of the Indonesian Consulate General in Frankfurt Malvino Aprialdy, the travel agents incessantly promote Indonesian maritime tourism at international events to boost the number of tourists traveling to Indonesia.

Boot Messe is the biggest annual promotional exhibition of water sport equipment and services, including diving, surfing, yachting, cruising, and fishing.

The event saw at least 1,700 participants from 57 countries.

Moreover, the Indonesian Tourism Ministry cooperated with the Consulate General in Frankfurt and carried out businesses and promotional activities in the Indonesian Pavilion located in Hall 3 of Messe D?sseldorf.

As many as 28 tour operators promoted Indonesian maritime tourist spots, such as Manado, Raja Ampat, Derawan, Pulau Weh, Lembeh, Selayar, Bangka, Palu, Kubu, Tulamben, Bunaken, and Wakatobi.

Several activities were held in the Indonesian Pavilion, such as business gatherings, to enhance networking to promote Indonesian tourist destinations.
