Entry permit for foreign yacht made easy

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Tourism eases entry permit for foreign yacht to double tourists visit to Indonesia. Government will turn Clearance Approval for Indonesian Territory (CAIT) into online service.

Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said it will be cheaper and easier for yacht to enter Indonesia. "With online service, tourists can register everywhere. It will be more efficient," Yahya said on Thursday, November 13.

The new policy is taken to attract more tourists coming to Indonesia. He believes that Indonesia can be a famous marine tourism. He expects yacht entering Indonesia increase from 750 to 1500 next year. "We have so much potential," he said.

The move can also boost state income. A yacht contributes to at least 2000 USD per month. Yahya said, it could affect local economy.
