Lombok seeks direct flight to Hong Kong

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM - Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), seeks direct flight to Hong Kong. Hong Kong tourism contingent planned to visit Mataram, the Head of Communication and Informatics Department in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Ridwan Syah, announced.

"About 30 travel bureau from Hong Kong will also come. This is their respond towards our demand to open direct flight from Lombok-Hong Kong," Syah said on Tuesday.

Hong Kong plans to use international flag carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, for the direct flight. The flight from Lombok to Hong Kong currently uses Cathay Pacific through Juanda Airport, Surabaya.

The Hong Kong entourage is scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on March 13, 2013. They plan to meet with the Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Suryo Sulisto, and Minister of Trade, Gita Wirjawan, the following day.
