REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Management of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) or Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park expects to be registered as intangible heritage of UNESCO 2012. The park was nominated last year along with Papua's Raja Ampat, Bali's Subak, and Yogyakarta's weaving.

"We hope people will choose TMII as an intangible heritage of UNESCO," the Assistant Manager of Public Relations, Dwi Atmojo, said on Monday.

Atmojo said TMII was the right choice as it actively preserved Indonesian cultures through traditional platforms, music, and dance performances. There are at least 33 traditional platform houses from Indonesia in TMII. "Everyday, TMII presents traditional performance in each traditional platform," Atmojo said.
