REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Dahlan Iskan said that he would not follow Gita Wirjawan who earlier stepped down from his position as Minister of Trade. Both are presidential candidates who will contest at Democratic Party Convention. Iskan said that he would only resign after his nomination was positive.

"I do not think to step down now. The candidacy has not fixed yet," Iskan said on Tuesday.

Iskan believes that his decision will not trigger any conflict of interest. He was appointed as minister of SOEs on October 17, 2011.

Gita Wirjawan is the first minister to resign from the Cabinet to pursue his presidential ambition. Beside Wirjawan and Iskan, Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa who is also chairman of National Mandate Party (PAN) has announced his presidential bid. Both Iskan and Rajasa still hold their ministerial posts.
