Viewing profile from terrorists who launched an attack in Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (14/1), actually creates a melancholy feeling. Identity from four terrorists who were killed was known comes from many professions.

They consisted from a public transportation driver, a Turkish kebab seller, a mechanic, and even a recidivist. Muhammad Ali is one of the terrorists who work as a public transportation driver.

According to his wife, Siti Maesaroh (31), Ali was working as driver of KWK 14 (public transportation that provides passengers to Citraland, West Jakarta). Earlier, his husband worked as a security guard at a restaurant. Both of them lived at Kampung Sanggrahan, North Meruya, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

After Ali, Dian Juni Kurniadi is one of the terrorists. He died at the traffic police post, in front of Sarinah Building, Thamrin area. He was known as a mechanic in a chicken breeding company, PT Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm, Sampit, Central Borneo for two years. According to the unit manager at the company, Kurniadi is a friendly young man who had stopped working because he wants to find a better job.

The third terrorist is Ahmad Muhazan bim Saroni (25). He comes from Kedungwungu Village, Indramayu, West Java. He died in a suicide bombing at Starbucks Coffee. 5 years ago, he joined his brother-in-law who has a tire retreading business in Jakarta. After his marriage in 2012, Muhazan started selling Turkish kebab in Cikampek, West java.

The fourth terrorist was Afif or known as his alias name, Sunakim. From the picture that captured by a photographer, during the attack in Sarinah, Sunakim wore black shirt and jeans. He also brought a backpack and pulled a gun.

Unlike Ali, Dian, and Muhazan, Afif is a recidivist. He had been arrested in the case of military training in Aceh. He was later convicted and sentenced to 7 years in prison.

When news about the identities of the four terrorists spread in mass media, question about do they realize what they have done? Do they understand what is jihad means? Do they really want to establish an Islamic State?

It does not mean I’m demeaning their profession or occupation. I just wanted to convey that their socio-economically class is in the category of middle to lower. Even, it is lower to the other things, whether intellectual and religious understanding though.

Then, what if people with diverse backgrounds and social conditions like this really want to establish an Islamic State? So, what kind of Islamic State that they want to strive for? I'm afraid they are just victims or only used by people who are not liable to destabilize this country.

Indonesian National Police Chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti called the terror bombing in Thamrin area allegedly masterminded by a group led by Bahrun Naim. He is a recidivist and now believed is in Syria. According to the National Police, this group repeatedly has taken delivery (transfer) of funds from Bahrun between Rp 40 million to Rp 70 million. The transfer of these funds to finance the operations of terror attacks in Indonesia.

It is also claimed by a group calling itself the Middle East as an ad-Daulah Islamiyah al-fi al-Iraq wa as-Suriyah or ISIS. The militant group said the attack on Starbucks café and police station in Central Jakarta is done by what they call 'the Caliph soldiers'.

It is mean Islamic State in Indonesia that they want to establish is like the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Or perhaps simply as an extension of the alias part of ISIS. Did not ISIS has declared his country to form the caliph caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi? Is not al-Baghdadi has announced the title himself as commander of the believers?

In other words, the caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a ruler who must be obeyed by Muslims around the world. And, anyone who does not want to submit or refuse to pledged to ISIS and the caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, they must be fought.

If this happens, the perpetrators of the bomb attacks in Thamrin - Muhammad Ali, Dian June Kurniadi, Ahmad Muhazan, and Afif - it makes no difference to those who have been recruited by ISIS to fight in Iraq and Syria. Namely, young people from different countries with different backgrounds vary. Of the rocker, the homeless, unemployed, drug addicts, students, school children, to employees.

In essence, the youths who have successfully recruited ISIS, especially from Europe, are people whose knowledge and insight into the religion is very shallow. They are then terpincut (read: cheated) by the definition of jihad that offered ISIS; Jihad which offers martyrdom and heaven after death and be happy hereafter, if you survived or are still alive.

Because of that, then the young men, including the perpetrators of the bomb attacks in Thamrin, "willing and sincere 'to be martyred suicide bombers. They called it as 'bride' and promises that if they are willing to die by blowing themselves will be directly picked up by an angel from heaven.

For the sake of an angel in heaven, then they are willing to leave their family to become suicide bombers. In fact, they actually only manipulated the leadership of ISIS to gain power.

Therefore, we must have attention to young people who later become radical. The security forces should be able to find up up to the roots of militant groups, for example, how the recruitment, formation, financing, until their training.

Religious leaders, scholars, Kiai, religious leaders, and religious mass organizations must be able to give a correct understanding of Islam that rahmatan lil 'alamin. Lastly, it should be underlined that religious learning today is very expensive commercial alias.

Rarely, the religion study groups are free, including in mosques and mosque though. Therefore, when they are difficult or impossible to get answers on various issues of this life of leaders and religious leaders and Islamic organizations, we can be sure they will flee to the parties who are not responsible, such as ISIS.
