There are two options for young people to fill their future. First is to be a supporting generation or the second to be a pioneering generation or reformer.

To be a supporting generation is an option when our former generation was straight, pious, professional and trustworthy. Like the story of companions of the Holy Prophet who continued supported the Prophet struggle and so on.

Meanwhile, when we are facing with fact that our former generation in generally were not trustworthy, selfish, greedy, uncaring, not uphold the truth and cause more harm, the choice for the next generation is to be a reformer.

I remembered when reformation was echoed for the first time in late of 90’s and in early 2000. A new slogan was born; “cut one generation” driven by young reformers. The point is to eliminate old generation that polluted by corruption, collusion and nepotism in new order era. In theory, with the coming in new generation, corruption circle will be removed and it leaves a young generation with their freshness and purity.

But unfortunately, in reality, it's emerged a new corrupt generation. There are new names with larger amount of corrupted money; young people, in their thirties, with corruption case worth hundreds of billions rupiah.

Then what should we do? Must we cut one generation again? And keep in mind, the remaining is our children and young man which also surrounded by the ‘ghost’ of corruption in different face. A mark corruptions, leak of examination in school and so on. Indonesia’s future suddenly seems so pale.

The Republika’s Agent of Change Award 2013 that held recently enlightened a new hope for future generations.

In the middle of chaos there are still young people who care and who do something without trapped in corruptions and bad culture; which infect majority of Indonesian people.

There is a “Trash Doctor” Gamal Albinsaid who devotes himself to public health. He is willing to serve poor people with rubbish as payment method. He has two purposes at once; to help poor people and also to tackle a waste problem at the same time. He is young, 24 year old. He is not only an inspiration for Indonesia, the doctor also inspiring the world. He was awarded The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneurship First Winner 2014 by Prince Charles in England.

There is also Ridwan Hasan Saputra, an Olympiad and science activist who bring out smart kids from poor families. He, not only, trained that kids with a smart ability and spiritual intelligent, but he also determined to make Indonesia, one day, able to create a new talented human resources after so many of our natural resources were exploited by foreign nations.

The other man was Abraham Samad who lead an anti corruption agency with his empathic and brave ability doing a huge maneuver to crush corruptions.

And the last two were Iko Uwais and IndraSjafri. Iko Uwais is a young figure who shines the nation martial art in the world.  Indra Sjafri is a national coach for young football team who prepares our young team to world cup. They are a national team who always express an excitement when scoring a goal with the prostration of gratitude.

The above names gave me a confidence; there are so many agents of change, though which not popular, who fighting together for the nation course. To be an inspirational source who also give an impulse for the future of Indonesia.
