Police reveals motive of a teenager's threat to Jokowi

Police says the teenager's video is only a practical jokes.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police have questioned the teenager who made a video containing threat and insult to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). According to Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police, Argo Yuwono, the young man with SS initials create the video to answer a challenge from his friend.

SS said his friend challenged him to see whether the action will draw police's attention and resulted with an arrest. He accepted the challenge and his friend recorded the video.

"This is a juvenile delinquency," said Jakarta Police spokesperson Argo Yuwono on Wednesday (23).

The video of SS went viral on social media Instagram and first uploaded by @jojo_ismyname. The shirtless young man posed a threat and challenged president while holding a frame of Jokowi's photograph.

Argo said SS admitted that the video was recorded three months ago and it was only a practical jokes. He never thought that the result of his action will be big and dangerous.

However, the video went viral since uploaded on Instagram on Wenesday (May 23). SS was arrested at his parent's house in Kembangan, West Jakarta., on Wednesday night

Jakarta Police currently is still investigate further who spreaded SS' video. We still investigate further about this video, Argo added.

Furthermore, Jakarta Police said SS has regretted his action. A 16-year-old boy also said he did not mean to insult President Jokowi. He apologized for his action.
