REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- House of Representaives (DPR) deputy speaker Fadli Zon said there are too many presidential institutions. He assessed it only burdened state budget.

According to him, Office of Presidential Staff (KSP) is also considered to violate the nomenclature of state institutions. Fadli said KSP is not important because it only accommodates President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s volunteer. He said it was an abuse of power.

Fadli asserted that KSP should be disbanded. "It's enough with State Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat," said Fadli on Wednesday (May 16).

Fadli also commented on the appointment of four special staffs of the president. He worried that it would be only intended to take care matters ahead of political year.

We worried, whether they will work for state or presidential candidate, Fadli added.

President Jokowi added four special staffs to help him handle a number of fields. According to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, the special staffs were appointed based on presidential decision (Keppres).

Quoted from the official KSP page, KSP is a unit of the presidential staff, which was established by Presidential Regulation No. 26/2015 on the Office of Presidential Staff, to provide support to the president and vice president in controlling the implementation of three strategic activities. It serves the implementation of national priority programs, activities related to presidential political communication, and management of strategic issues. Presidential Regulation No. 26 can be seen in public information.
