Tangerang Police arrest three suspected terrorists

Police says the three suspected terrorists plot to attack Mako Brimob.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Three suspected terrorists have been arrested in Kunciran, Tangerang, on Wednesday. They were believed to have plot to attack  National Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters (Mako Brimob) in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java and a number of police stations.

They plan to attack a number of police stations in Bogor, Bandung, Jakarta, and also Mako Brimob Kelapa Dua Depok with hit and run system, said Tangerang Police chief Harry Kurniawan on Wednesday (May 16).

Harry said the three suspected terrorists prepared themselves with arrows equipped with bomb and commando knives. The suspected terrorists have prepared and collected the explosives, bought arrows, and conducted semi-military training in several locations in Sukabumi, Cileungsi, Bekasi in West Java, Harry explained.

He revealed the raid was conducted after spying them for four months. The three suspected terrorists are currently secured by National Police's counterterrorism squad (Densus 88). The suspects are still being investigated.

A series of terror attacks recently happened in Surabaya on Sunday to Monday. Meanwhile, a bloody riot occured three days earlier caused by around 150 terrorist suspects breaking their cells and killing five police officers at Mako Brimob, Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java.

Terrorists in Indonesia made police as their main target after a number of their leaders and fellow terrorist fighters were arrested or killed by Densus 88. The latest terror attack also happened in Riau Police Headquarters on Wednesday (May 16). One police member was reported died, namely Auzar and others -- including two journalists -- injured.
