REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Social Affairs has invited all heads of districts and mayors to evaluate and seek inputs from local governments on the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH). Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham said the national coordination meeting discussed two major agendas of evaluating the implementation of the PKH and getting inputs for the subsequent application of PKH.

Marham was the speaker at the PKH national coordination meeting attended by some 700 invitees. He " Marham stated on Thursday that some areas still facing several problems include data collection and harmonization, the number of PKH assistants, as well as the number of beneficiary families of PKH on the field.

Other problems included the synergy between programs in the Ministry of Social Affairs and local areas.

He highlighted the need for synergy among all programs to reduce the poverty level.

Director General of Social Protection and Security of the Ministry of Social Affairs Harry Hikmat remarked that the PKH also contributed to reducing poverty and regional gaps in Indonesia.

PKH recipients received various forms of social assistance and other integrated subsidies, such as rice, Non-Cash Food Assistance, Healthy Indonesia Program, and Smart Indonesia Program.

Hence, the national coordination meeting holds significance to ensure effective implementation of the PKH and to reduce poverty and social inequality.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Social Affairs signed a memorandum of understanding on social empowerment of beneficiary families of PKH with related parties, such as the Bina Swadaya Foundation and small and medium enterprises.
