REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Democratic Party Central Executive Board (DPP) asked Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to complete three major cases that have been the concern of society. Democratic Party Central Executive Board chairman Jemmy Setiawan revealed the three cases were 2008 Bank Century bailout case, Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case, and e-ID card graft case.

"If necessary, in the end of this year, those cases must be resolved," he said on Thursday (April 19).

According to Jemmy, by completing the cases immediately, the political year would not be rowdy. Therefore, he asserted KPK must solve those cases.

"Don't make these cases as a tool of transactions of power and efforts to canalize  the cases that obviously involved many big names, such as e-ID card graft case and BLBI case," Jemmy added.

In addition, Jemmy asserted Democratic Party has no connection with 2008 Bank Century bailout case.

Earlier, South Jakarta District Court has ordered KPK to continue its investigation into 2008 Bank Century bailout, which reportedly caused more than Rp 7 trillion in state losses.

KPKs investigation into the case has been in limbo since Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced the first suspect in the case, former BI deputy governor Budi Mulya to 10 years of imprisonment in July 2014. Previously, prosecutors indictment against Budi mentioned former vice president and BI governor Boediono and former Financial Services Authority chairman and then BI deputy governor Muliaman D. Hadad's names, as well as other the BI board of director members played a role in the case.
