REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Education and Culture has set a target to fully implement Computer-Based National Exam (UNBK) by 2019. He urged the people to lend their computers to facilitate the implementation of UNBK.

"We have set a target of 100 percent for the implementation of the Computer-Based National Exam in 2019 based on the concept of sharing existing resources. We need to increase public awareness, so that the people could lend their computers to facilitate the implementation of the Computer-Based National Exam, as long as they are used properly," the ministry's Inspector General Daryanto noted after reviewing the implementation of the national exam for the senior high school level in Jakarta on Monday.

Daryanto remarked that his ministry had also cooperated with the telecommunications services company Telkom to help provide some mobile Base Transceiver Stations in the foremost, remote, and outermost areas.

"In future, junior high school students can also take exams in senior high schools," he stated.

In addition, the procedure and mechanisms for the implementation of the exam will be improved. Proctors will be added, trained, and tested to overcome problems during the exam's implementation.

In 2018, a total of 6,293,552 students from all levels of education will appear for the Computer-Based National Exam. The figure increased 166 percent as compared to the total of 3.7 million students recorded in the previous year.

Provinces that have recorded full implementation of the Computer-Based National Exam at the vocational high school level included Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Banten, Bengkulu, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, Gorontalo, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara, and Central Sulawesi.

The provinces that fully implemented the exam at the senior high school level included Aceh, Banten, Bangka Belitung, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Gorontalo, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara.

The provinces that fully implemented the exam at the junior high school level, included DKI Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
