Cassa 212 skids off runway at Husein Sastranegara airport

It takes nearly two hours to remove the Cassa 212 plane from the scene.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- A Cassa 212 A-2108 plane skidded off the runway while landing at Husein Sastranegara Airport here on Tuesday. The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) plane returned to the airport after taking an aerial photograph of Cisanti site and Citarum River, spokesman for the Husein Sastranegara Airbase Major Supri Ardianto said in a press statement.

The plane from the Squadron 4 of the Abdurahman Saleh Airbase in Malang, East Java, was piloted by Captain Andika Ardyagana, with Wanto Nur Abadi as co-pilot. In total, the plane carried 15 people, including seven crew members and six officers.

Ardianto stated that the plane skidded off as far as 5 meters from the runway, Taxiway C, and Taxiway B.

No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.

It took nearly two hours to remove the plane from the scene.

He added that the Air Force was still checking the condition of the aircraft to determine the cause of the accident.

Flights from and to the airport have returned to normal, following the accident, he revealed.

"After almost two hours, the plane was successfully pulled and removed to the maintenance hangar of Sathar 14 Depohar 10 at the Husein Sastranegara Airbase," he stated.
