REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 16 luxury cars and motorcycles seized from the Head of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) District Abdul Latif (AL) were brought to Jakarta. The cars comprise two Rubicons, two Hummers, a Cadilac Escalade, a Toyota Vellfire, a BMW Sport, and a Lexus SUV.

Furthermore, the motorcycles comprise four Harley Davidson, one BMW, one Ducati, and two Trail KTMs. "Eight cars and eight motorcycles related to the HST case were brought to Jakarta," Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesperson, Febri Diansyah, stated here on Tuesday.

Febri remarked that the vehicles were seized following a criminal investigation of AL and were shipped to Jakarta, and the process still ongoing. AL and Fauzan Rifani, who is chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce of HST, and Abdul Basit, as managing director of PT Sugriwa Agung, are named as suspects for receiving bribes in the Damanhuri Barabai District General Hospital case in HST District, South Kalimantan, in the 2017 fiscal year.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Menara Agung Donny Winoto is suspected of giving a bribe.

The KPK suspects that Donny had given some money to AL, Rifani, and Basit as the fee for the construction of class I, II, VIP, and Super VIP treatment rooms at the Damanhuri Regional General Hospital, Barabai, HST District.

The "commitment fee" of the project reached up to 7.5 percent or approximately Rp3.6 billion.

Donny first gave Rp1.8 billion during the September-October 2017 period. He then granted Rp1.8 billion on January 3, 2018. Donny finally transferred the commission money to Rifani for Rp25 million.
