REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan oversaw the visit of supervision team for the supply of absorption wells for wastewater and ground water treatment plant to high rise buildings. The team visited a number of buildings at Thamrin - Sudirman area on Monday (March 12).

In their first stop, the team came to Sari Pan Pacific hotel at Thamrin street, in Central Jakarta. The team consisted representatives of various governmental agencies and external agency from Groundwater Conservation Center.

Anies found out Sari Pan Pasific hotel has violated the regulation in a long run. He said the fat trap in the hotel drains were not working properly. The trap should work so that the fat from the kitchen does not run into the drains. The fat hardened and trapped a lot of garbage inside the drains.

The hotel management promised to fix the problems. Anies said he will send a team to monitor progress of the hotel's compliance.

Furthermore, Anies said on February 6, Gubernatorial Decree No.279/2018 has been issued on establishment of an Integrated Supervision Team Provision of Absorption Wells Installation of Waste Water Treatment and Ground Water.

"The team was in charge of supervising and today the team consisting of several elements in regional working units (SKPD) as well as external elements started off to the field," said Anies.

There are 80 buildings that will be monitored, started from today until March 21. Anies said there are five teams, each contains 10 people, that would check around the building everyday.

"It's like a raid at the high buildings, to make sure the managements obey all the rules," Anies explained.
