REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A senior minister said here on Friday that the Family Muslim Cyber Army (MCA) used the momentum to the run-up of regional elections in 2018 and general elections in 2019 to undermine the government. He said the group has disrupt the peace in the country.

"From the beginning we have said that in this political year, tension will rise ahead of regional and general elections. The country is peaceful but this group has decided to disrupt it," Coordinating minister for political, security, and legal affairs Wiranto said at his office.

He said election organisers have already prepared for the election of regional heads, legislative members, and president very well. "It is being disrupted so that the government is considered a failure, undermined, as if it acted arbitrarily. That is a crime. They are traitors," he said.

Meanwhile, Surabaya Metro Police, East Java arrested four perpetrators who spread fake news on Friday (March 2). Among the suspect , one of them which initialed MFA affiliated to Family MCA. MFA is known as Itonk in his social media accounts. Meanwhile, another four suspects were from other network.

On February 28, National Police have arrested six administrators of Family MCA. It was a secret group that allegedly spread fake news and provocative issues related to sentiments against tribal affiliation, religion, race, and societal groups (SARA) through social medias and chat applications.
