REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- The full health professionals team from Ministry of Health has arrived in Asmat district, Papua. They already prepared to help service at Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Agats, where many patients infected by measles and malnutrition.

"The full team from Ministry of Health has been delegated in Asmat district and in the team there are a number of specialist doctors and other health workers," said Secretary of Papua Provincial Health Office Silwanus Sumule in Jayapura on Thursday (18/1).

Earlier, Ministry of Health said there are 39 health workers to strengthen the service team in Asmat district. The health professionals include 11 specialists, four general practitioners, three surgical nurses, two anaesthesiologists, and 19 nutritionists as well as environmental health and surveillance specialists.

Specialist doctor who were sent to Asmat comprised surgeons, dermatologist, genital specialists, anaesthetists, obstetricians, clinical nutrition, three paediatricians, and three internists. According to Silwanus, more paediatricians still needed in Asmat.

"We still need more paediatricians and already asked again to Ministry of Health," Silwanus added.

Not only health team, Ministry of Health has also sent drug logistics including 1,100 vials of measles vaccine, three tons of supplementary food, and two thousand disinfectant tablets to kill bacteria to obtain clean water.
