REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Lawyer Fredrich Yunadi still continued to question the examination and detention of him by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) related to alleged obstruction of justice case. He even asked KPK to also examine National Police Chief Tito Karnavian.

"Why did he asked National Police Chief has to be examined, what's the correlation with his case?" said National Police spokesperson Setyo Wasisto on Monday (January 16).

KPK has arrested Fredrich only hours after he failed to appear for questioning of last January 12. He had allegedly helped graft defendant and his former client Setya Novanto to avoid being investigated in e-ID procurement graft case.

Fredrich along with other suspect, Bimanesh Sutarjo, an internist at Medika Permata Hijau had allegedly conspired to manipulate Setya's medical records. They made arrangement for Setya to be hospitalized following a minor car accident in November 2017 in order for Setya to miss KPK summon.

Fredrich said, KPK needed to examine Tito if the anti-graft institution did not believe Setya's car accident that really happened. He also assessed his detainment was an attempt to criminalize lawyer.

He appealed advocates in Indonesia to boycott KPK. According to Fredrich, the institution is considered to attempt to finish off the advocate profession.

Furthermore, National Police refused to respond of what Fredrich's request to KPK. They assessed Fredrich statement was not reasonable.

"We can't respond further because we think he can't think clearly right now," Setyo added.
