Fredrich Yunadi to be questioned on Friday

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to immediately summoned advocate Fredrich Yunadi to be questioned as suspect of alleged obstruction of justice case. He was accused to deliberately preventing, obstructing or foiling an investigation of the e-ID graft case on suspect Setya  Novanto.

"The examination will be conducted on Friday (January 12). We hope the suspect will meet the summon," KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said at his office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (January 10).

Fredrich as ex Novanto's lawyer was named suspect on Wednesday along with Bimanesh Sutarjo, an internist at Medika Permata Hijau hospital. Both of them were suspected to cooperate to falsify Novanto's condition so he can be hospitalized and missed KPK summon.

"If he had any response and denials, he could conveyed it during examination," Febri said.

KPK urged all parties who served as advocate or physician to work in accordance to professional ethics, with a goodwill and not obstructing legal process, especially the efforts to eradicate corruption.

Fredrich and Bimanesh are suspected violated Article 21 No. 31/1999 as amended by Law No. 20/2001 on Eradication of Corruption. Also they violated Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

The Article stipulates that a person intentionally preventing, intercepting or foiling directly or indirectly the investigation, prosecution and examination in the defendant's hearing in the case of corruption shall be sentenced to a maximum of 12 years and a fine of not more than Rp 600 million.
