KPK grills Marzuki Alie with 13 questions

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned former House of Representatives speaker Marzuki Alie. He was questioned in e-ID card corruption case for suspect Anang Sugiana Sudiharjo.

Marzuki said, KPK investigators grilled him with 13 questions. According to him, most of the questions was the same as the previous examination.

"Same questions. Only for different suspect. I was examined at first for suspect Andi Narogong then SN (Setya Novanto). It was a "copy-paste" questions. Today, for Anang, I also get the same questions. Nothing new. The investigators sought for clarification whether I know Anang. They asked me to point Anang's photograph. I never knew him," Marzuki said in KPK office, Jakarta, on Monday (January 8).

Marzuki asserted, although he served as House speaker during the e-ID card graft case occured, he never had anything to do with the deal that caused state loss up to Rp2.3 trillion.

"I never involved with the case. I do not have anything to inform because I never involved in the e-ID card issue," he reiterated.

Furthermore, Marzuki explained, the budgeting process of e-ID card project was not out of ordinary. He admitted to not participate in the budget approval. "It was not me who approve the budget. The budget approval was lead by deputy chairman of finance," he explained.

KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said, beside examining Marzuki, the investigators also have summoned former member of the House Abdul Malik Haramain and Djamal Aziz. 

KPK investigators also summoned two officials of the Home Affairs Ministry. The investigators tried to target new suspect by questioning Irman and Sugiharto. In the indictment against Irman and Sugiharto, KPK prosecutors mentioned Marzuki received money Rp20 billion.
