KPK continues to explore Setnov's role on e-ID graft case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continued to explore the role of the House of Representatives speaker, Setya Novanto (Setnov) in the corruption case of e-ID procurement that cost the state up to Rp 2,3 trillion.

On Wednesday (22/11) KPK investigators conducted an examination of several witnesses to complete Setnov's file.

"Today, a number of witnesses were investigated for the investigation of e-ID case with the suspect SN (Setya Novanto), Made Oka (former Gunung Agung boss), Ade Komarudin (former House of Representative speaker) and Damayanti (tasks executor of the House's General Secretariat)," said KPK spokesperson, Febri Diansyah on Wednesday (November 22).

Three witnesses have fulfilled the KPK investigator's call and are undergoing investigation. 

Previously, KPK has summoned number of witnesses, namely members of Parliament Agun Gunandjar Sudarsa and Miryam S. Haryani, Chairman of Golkar Party's Supervisory Board Aburizal Bakrie.

Determination of Setnov suspects in line with the issuance of Investigation Order (Sprindik) on October 31. For his actions, Setnov is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) Subsider Article 3 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 Year 1999 as already amended in Law Number 20 Year 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption Juncto article 55 paragraph (1) to-1 Criminal Code.

On Sunday (November 19) night, KPK has moved Setnov from Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital (RSCM) to Gedung Merah Putih KPK to be examined. He was detained in State Class 1 Detetntion Facility, East Jakarta, KPK's branch.
