REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Spokesperson of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah said, the anti-graft body cooperated with Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) in monitoring House of Representatives speaker, Setya Novanto health status.
Currently, Novanto is being treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital (RSCM), Central Jakarta. He was transferred from Medika Permata Hijau hospital, South Jakarta, due to absence of scanning facility.
Febri said, IDI has been very cooperative. Moreover, the two institutions have signed MoU.
For now, IDI is still waiting for result of examinations and observation from doctors at RSCM.
"IDI trusts professionalism of the doctors at RSCM," he said on Friday (November 17).
Secretary General of IDI, Dr. Adib Khumaidi said doctors from the organization has started to work since Friday. Nevertheless, he could not mention any details on the numbers of doctors involved in the team.
"We have received request from KPK for establishing second opinion against Novanto," he said.
Novanto who is also the Golkar party chairman had an accident at Permata Hijau area on his way to Metro TV studio for an exclusive interview on Thursday (November 16) night. He was rushed to Medika Permata Hijau hospital.
He was fainted and indicated to have a brain concussion.
