REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Attorney of Setya Novanto (Setnov), Fredrich Yunadi said, his client status was not a detainee yet. He reiterated, Novanto is still a suspect.
"I only explain that his status is not a detainee yet," Fredrich said to the reporters at Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital (RSCM), Jakarta, on Friday (November 17).
He claimed, KPK has just only once summoning his client, namely on November 15. Later on the night of November 15, KPK issued an arrest warrant.
Fredrich questioned KPK authority to arrest his client who is currently under treatment at RSCM.
"Why did KPK stated that Novanto is arrested? Ask the reason to KPK. Which law allows KPK to have the authority to detain a sick person and never been examined," he said.
According to Fredrich, Novanto had the accident on his way to KPK office. Nevertheless, he did not intend to surrender.
"He was only willing to be questioned, but then he got an accident. I was informed by his aide," he said.
When being asked about Novanto's name on wanted list, Fredrich said it will stop his move to file a pretrial.
"People who said so probably did not go to school," he said.
