REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Public Relations of National Police Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said, there was no specific reason behind the quick move to process cases filed by Setya Novanto's lawyer.
The police have increased the status of cases of alleged defamation related to memes of the House speaker and alleged abuse of authority of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leaders into full investigation.
"The cases reported are easy, It is just a coincidence," he said in North Jakarta on Thursday (November 9).
Setyo explained, the two cases are easy to revealed since it has met the triangle of law with the existance of evidence, rapporteur witness and victim.
"But, in the case of attack to Novel Baswedan, it was difficult one. We have the picture of alleged assailant but we face difficulty in finding him," Setyo said.
Therefore, the police asked for public participation in Novel case. So far, no one has report any clue yet.
"There is no difference in handling the case. Please, do not compare it as if state official case has to be solved quicker than other case," Setyo said.
On November 1, National Police received reports from Frederic Yunadi as Setnov lawyer on 32 social media accounts that spread memes related to his client. Of the 32 accounts, nine accounts allegedly insulted Setnov.
The police have detained Dyan Kemala Arrizzqi for spreading meme of Setnov while he was hospitalized with sleep apnea mask.
Meanwhile, the case if an attack to KPK senior investigator still has not been revealed for seven months since the incident.
