On Friday (November 3), House speaker Setya Novanto has met the summons of KPK prosecutor to testify against defendant Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong also in e-ID graft case.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- House of Representatives (DPR) speaker Setya Novanto failed to meet the second summons of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s investigators, Monday (November 6).

He was scheduled to be examined as witness for the defendant Anang Sugiana Sudihardjo (ASS), the director of Quadra Solution, in e-ID card graft case.

"This morning, around 08.00 am, the KPK correspondence received a letter  from the General Secretariat and the DPR Board of Experts related to the summons of the House speaker, Setya Novanto as a witness to ASS in the e-ID card graft case," said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah.

He said, the letter dated November 6, 2017 signed by care taker of DPR secretary general delivered five points which stated that Novanto could not fulfill the summons.

"According to the letter, the summons to Setya Novanto must be completed with a written permission from the President," Febri said.

Last week, Novanto missed the hearing as the Golkar party's chairman was visiting his constituents during House's recess.

Febri said, KPK investigators still need information from Novanto to complete the file of Anang case. KPK was trying to confirm a meeting of Novanto and Anang allegedly occurred in House speaker's house in 2011.

Previously, on Friday (November 3), Novanto has met the summons of KPK prosecutor to testify against defendant Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong also in e-ID graft case.

During the trial, Novanto denied all allegation of his involvement in e-ID project.

He denied the allegation of receiving bribe in the project that cost Rp 2.3 trillion state loss.

Novanto repeatedly answered the prosecutor's questions with "I forget" and "I don't know".

Novanto was named a suspect in e-ID case in July. He allegedly played a key role in a plan to swindle funds earmarked for the project.

On September 29, he has succeeded with a pretrial motion and invalid the suspect status on his e-ID graft case
