REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- House of Representatives (DPR) speaker, Setya Novanto (Setnov) finally showed up at the Jakarta Corruption Court in e-ID card graft case trial on Friday. He came to testify as witness for the defendant Andi Agustinus (Andi Narogong).

"As House speaker, I want this case to be solved and completed, as what public has expected," Novanto said during the trial.

When being questioned by the prosecutors, Novanto frequently replied "Don't know" and "I forget". His also gave the same answer when the prosecutors presented him some evidences.

His answer caught chairman of the judges panel's attention.

"I have heard you oftenly said forgot, forgot, and don't know," chairman of the judges panel, Jhon Hasan Butar Butar said.

However, Novanto claimed, he was telling the truth. He did not remember since the incident occured for a long time ago.

Judge Butar Butar then gave Narogong's attorney opportunity to questioned Novanto.

According to Narogong's attorney, Novanto has given a sufficient and clear statement. Therefore, there was no further questions.

Judge Butar Butar said, some of Novanto's statements were different with other witnesses. But, the attorney insisted Novanto has testified with the truth.

No longer a suspect
