REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Muhammadiyah Youth Center Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said Novel Baswedan will be back to work as senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission in November.

"Insya Allah (God's willing) Novel will be able to return to country and serve in KPK in early or mid November this year," said Dahnil who established active communication with Novel.

According to Dahnil, Novelhas has made a significant progress towards recovery. His eyes showed a positive sign after being operated on August 17.

Before coming home, Novel will have another surgery in mid October. It was sooner than expected. The second stage of surgery was supposed to be done three to four months after the first stage.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), Novel's health condition and his eyes healing process showed positive signs," Dahnil remarked on Monday (October 9).

Novel was attacked by two men riding on a motorbike who sprayed sulfuric acid on his face while he was returning to his house after morning prayers on April 11, 2017. The chief KPK investigator was blinded that he had to undergo an eye operation in Singapore.

The incident took place when Novel led an investigation into the electronic-ID card corruption case, implicating a number of high-ranking officials and many lawmakers.

Dahnil deplored the police has not shed some light on Novel's case in six month after the incident.
