Regarding Pansus invitation, KPK to wait for MK decision

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Agus Rahardjo stated the anti-graft body will not attend the invitation of the Special Committee of Inquiry Rights on the KPK until there is an official decision against the institutional status of KPK based on the laws. 

"We saw the experts are divided in assessing the issue. Therefore, we asked everybody to be patience in waiting the Constitutional Court's decision," Agus said in a hearing in Commission III on Tuesday (September 26).

According to Agus, Constitutional Court's decision is very important to decide whether KPK should attend the invitation of Special Committee.

"We apologize to members of the House and members of Commission III that we have not met the invitation," he said.

Meanwhile, member of Commission III from PPP party, Asrul Sani, assesed the argumentation of KPK leader is not an excuse. "It is possible the same reason will be used during legal process against KPK is running," he said.

In addition, Chairman of PAN party, Zulkifli Hasan, hoped KPK will meet the invitation before the end of Special Committee's working period on September 28.

"I hope KPK will attend in the Special Committee meeting, therefore the working period no need to be extended," he said.
