REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police observer Bambang Widodo Umar said the anti-graft body's senior investigator Novel Baswedan could mentioned names of suspected people involved in chemical liquid attack on him.
The information should be considered as clues and not a definite directions for the investigator in solving the case.
Novel as a victim has the right to provide informations about the case experienced in relation to the alleged person who might be related to the case. But the status of information is just as guidance, not as a definite direction for police investigators in revealing the case," Bambang said when contacted by Republika.co.id, Monday (August 14).

He said, if the information provided by Novel is not accurate, the police should not named Novel as a suspect for defamation. The police, inhis opinion, should change the direction of the investigation into more validinformation.
"If the police criminalized a victim, it is possible that there is an element of sentiment and it can be considered unethical," Bambang said.
