REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police Chief Tito Karnavian would send a team to Singapore and meet with senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Novel Baswedan. They would ask directly related to admission from him about involvement of general in his case.
"We need to follow up on Novel Baswedan's testimony in person and in order to pro justitia. We will send a team to Singapore," Tito said at a press conference on Monday (July 31).

Novel is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore. Previously, KPK and police were invlolved in a series of conflicts in the past that mostly triggered by the former's moves to charge high-ranking police officers with graft.
Police also requested KPK to accompany the team to meet with Novel in Singapore. So far, KPK chairman Agus Rahadjo was the one who be pleased to assist Novel.
However, no re-confirmation from KPK about that statement. This week, police would conduct talks with KPL commisioners related to the case handling.
Last June, in an interview with Time, Novel claimed he had received information that a police general or a high-level police official was involved in the attack on him.

On April 11, Novel was attacked by two suspects riding a motorbike who hurled acid on him while he was on his way home after performing the dawn, or fajr, prayer, at a mosque near his house in North Jakarta.
He suffered acid-induced injuries to his face, particularly his left eye.
