Police seize one ton illicit drug from Taiwanese network

Police foiled attempt to smuggle one ton of crystal methamphetamine from Taiwan at the dock of ex Mandalika hotel, Anyer, Serang, Banten, Thursday (July 13).

JAKARTA – Joint Team of Directorate of Drugs Jakarta and Depok Metro Police have seized one ton of crystal methamphetamine from Taiwanese drug dealer on Wednesday (July 12) evening.

The smuggler placed crystal methamphetamine at the dock of ex Mandalika Hotel, at Anyer Raya street, Serang, Banten. 

In the raid, one of the suspects was shot dead. “There were four perpetrators. One was shot dead, two people arrested and another one is still on the run,” said Head of Police Public Relations of Metro Jaya Great Commissioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, on Thursday (July 13) morning.

One of the suspects, Lin Ming Huicyang, who control the illicit drug smuggling was shot dead. According to the Director of Narcotics Polda Metro Jaya Great Commissioner of the Police Nico Afinta, the prepetrator was shot for resistance. Lin allegedly fight back because he wanted to attack officers with a vehicle.

“810 (Police code to be shot) for taking resistance against officers at the time of arrest,” he said.

Other suspects, Chen Wei Cyuan and Liao Guan, Yu have been arrested. While one other person, Hsu Yung Li, is named as fugitive. “We are still hunting for the other (Hsu),” Argo said.

 

The estimated number of drugs secured is 27 boxes. Estimated one sack of brutto each 20 kilograms, with total evidence of one ton illicit drug. The raid was made after conducting one month of surveillance.
