Police arrest 41 alleged terrorist after Kampung Melayu bomb

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – A Spokesperson of National Police Setyo Wasisto said after the explosion at Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, Detachment 88 kept finding the alleged terrorists involved. The detachment also anticipated any explosion head to Eid al-Fitr.

“After the suicide bombing at Kampung Melayu, there were 41 people were arrested,” said Setyo at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday (June 22).

About 14 people among them were involved in suicide bombing plan at Kampung Melayu. They were Jajang Iqin Sodikin, Warus Suyitno, Asep Sofyan, Kiki Muhammad Iqbal, Heri Sundana, Rohim, Agus Suryana, Muslim and Wachidun Triyono.

"They were being arrested at different location,” said Setyo.

Most of the suspects knew the plan of bombing and were the members of Jamaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD) Mundiriyah Bandung Raya. Two of them, Rohim got a mandate from the bomber Ahmad Sukri to safe his motorcycle and Agus Suryana was met by Sukri to handover the motor.

Five people were released after 24 hours examination as they had slight involvement in the incident. Two of them were women.

Fifteen people were also arrested in the prevention of terror act before Eid al-Fitr and in the attack to some police stations. Five other people were also arrested for their involvement in terrorism funding. Seven alleged terrorist included in wanted list had also been arrested.

“In total 41 people were arrested, five others were released and 36 were named as suspects,” said him.
