REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Early last week, two pics of prosecutors bringing a paper written #OTTRecehan were spreading in social media after the Head of Section III of Bengkulu Prosecutor Office Inteligence Parlin Purna was arrested in a sting operation by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The hashtag #OTTRecehan was to mock finding on small cases.

Responding to it, Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the operation was not fractional. The smaller money taken as evidence showed a progress in the corruption combat.

“Basically it is good. Don't forget that smaller sting operation is good. It means there is no big transaction, isn't there? It means there is a progress there,” said Kalla on Wednesday (June 21).

Kalla also said that sting operation by KPK was more interesting as it started to target regions. It meant the state officials in Jakarta started to adapt and ran the rules better. Jusuf Kalla argued that trend had shifted as the regional government felt to be far away from the central government. So, they felt free to do whatever without KPK monitoring.
