REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did not expected special event for his 56th birthday on June 21. He chose to hold blusukan (having field visit) to Bogor Regency and surroundings.

“There is nothing special. It is just like that in the previous years,” said Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung at Bogor Presidential Palace on Wednesday (June 21).

As he was, President Jokowi never commemorated his birthday. After visiting Bogor, Ciawi and Sukabumi, Jokowi would break his fast at the Palace.

Jokowi was born in Surakarta, Central Java, on June 21, 1961. He became 7th Indonesian president since October 20, 2014. Jokowi was the Governor of Jakarta since October 15, 2012 until October 16, 2014.

Since July 28, 2005 until October 1, 2012, Jokowi was the Major of Surakarta (Solo). After two years, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) proposed him to join Jakarta election paired with Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).
