REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Jakarta Metro Police Chief Mochamad Iriawan did not question a number of scholars who met Habib Muhammad Rizieq Shihab in Saudi Arabia, although he had repeatedly appealed the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI)'s leader to come home.

"Naturally he came there and find Indonesian fellows. No problem. What's the question? Whatever was done, the process is there,” he said in Central Jakarta on Monday (June 19).

Iriawan said police still waiting for Habib Rizieq to come home. However, there was a more important thing that became the concern of police, namely Ramadhaniya Operation for the security of Ramadan and homecoming.

"We hold it for a while. We have done the inspection; we have done all the checks, all we do. We wait for the next step to inform,” said Iriawan.

Iriawan asserted, anyway, the accusation of criminalization to the scholars was not right. The best way to solve the problem was by letting Habib Rizieq to come home and stated the entire rebuttals in court.

Iriawan believed that the judges would decide well. If the evidence showed Habib Rizieq was not guilty, he would be released.

"Whether he came by private jet, by a cruise ship, the law must be upheld and it must be faced. That's it. It is the most elegant and I will lift my hat when he come,” said Iriawan.
