Emir Qatar arrives at Bogor State Palace

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at Bogor State Palace, West Java, on Wednesday (October 18). He welcomed by President Joko Widodo on his two-days-visit in Indonesia.

Sheikh Tamim was also on his trip to several Southeast Asian countries. After being welcomed in the front yard of Bogor State Palace, Sheikh Tamim and President Jokowi held an official ceremony in the courtyard.

They were scheduled to discuss some issues related to interest of two countries. Sheikh Tamim and Jokowi would also sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) and joint press statement.

In addition, Sheikh Tamim would also plant an ebony tree or Sulawesi's black wood in the backyard. It becomes as a sign of the friendship between Qatar and Indonesia.

During Sheikh Tamim visit to Indonesia, he also brought 43 business delegates from his country to attend a business forum in Jakarta capital with 150 Indonesia businessmen. 

The business meeting is expected to boost economic ties in sectors such as energy, investment, trade, health, youth and sports as well as cultural and commercial aviation.
