Ahead of 55 rally, GNPF MUI submit audiences request to Supreme Court

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Advocation Team Coordinator of National Movement to Safeguard Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI), Nasrulloh Nasution, came to Supreme Court (MA) on Wednesday (May 3). He submitted a letter to have the opportunity to audience on May 5.  

"We had deliver an audiency letter to MA related to 55 rally. It was received by the spokesperson of MA and it would be delivered to the chairman," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (May 3).  

Nasrulloh hoped the Chairman of Supreme Court would accept the representatives of GNPF MUI during the 55 rally and convey its support to the verdict of blasphemy case in North Jakarta District Court on May 9.

He also delivered a bundle of file to MA. It consisted letters of support to panels of judges for making a decision by considering their conviction and social justice.  

"As what we gave to North Jakarta District Court, we also sent a bundle of 600 pages file of letter of support, jurisprudence of verdict of blasphemy case based on article 156a verse a of the Criminal Code, Insight, and Raligious View of MUI, SEMA No.11 in 1964, and the video of Aksi Bela Islam (Rally to Defend Islam)," he said.  

Nasrulloh hoped that the documents could be a consideration to decide the verdict read on Tuesday, so it acomodated the sense of social justice, especially for Muslims.
