Police monitors coup plot for some time before arresting the suspects

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Police admitted to monitor the activities of five suspects of alleged coup plot case for a long time. He said there were some parties reported plot indications to them. 

“Of course it has been investigated for a long time,” said the Spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono in Central Jakarta on Friday (March 31).

According to Argo, five suspects were arrested in different locations. They were examined by the investigators in Kelapa Dua Headquarters, Depok, West Java. 

“This morning, Jakarta Metro Police arrested five people in different locations. There was a suspect arrested at 02.30 a.m., the other at 01.00 a.m.,” he said.

He said it was not related to 212 rally on December 2, 2016. He added that all the suspects were charged using Article 107 and 110 of the Criminal Code on plot agreement. Two of the suspects would be charged with Article 16 of Law No. 40 in 2008 on an indication of discrimination.
