REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SIDOARJO -- Twelve flights from Juanda airport in Surabaya, East Java, to Bali will be halted on Tuesday for the observance of Hindu Seclusion Day.

Legal And Communication Section Head of PT Angkasa Pura I Juanda airport operator, Anomg Fitranggono, said here on Monday that flights would be stopped due to the 24-hour closure of Bali's Ngurah Rai airport on Tuesday.

"Based on data that we received, 12 flights from Juanda to Bali will be stopped for Seclusion Day," he stated.

The flights will actually be served by four airline companies that usually serve the Juanda-Ngurah Rai route.

"The airline companies are Citilink operating four flights, Lion Air operating four flights, Nam Air operating one flight, and Garuda operating three flights," he added.

He noted that the condition remained normal so far, and no remarkable preparations were made in connection with the event. This is because people already know about the annual Hindu commemoration in Bali, which is mostly populated by Hindus, and so they must have already been prepared for it when they planned to visit the island.
