REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUTA -- An Australian woman has died in Bali after drinking almost 30 shots of vodka during a drinking session with friends.

Indonesian police say the 38-year-old woman collapsed in her villa in north Kuta.

Her friends told police that she drank about 27 shots of vodka in the three-hour session on Sunday before collapsing in front of her room.

They performed CPR on the woman and called a doctor but she was dead before medical help could arrive.

She died early on Monday morning.
