REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police spokesman Comr Martinus Sitompul said eight suspected terrorists that were arrested on Thursday (March 23) wanted to hold military exercises in Halmahera, North Maluku. However, it failed.
Based on investigation, the suspected terrorists wanted to make a military training camp in Halmahera. However, police did not know the motive of exercise and the reason for choosing Halmahera as a training location. "They just mentioned Halmahera," he said at National Police headquarters, South Jakarta, on Friday (March 24).
Martinus explained that two of eight terrorists had undergone military training in the Southern Philippines. "This relationship including exchange of information and purchase of weapons," Martius said.

Total perpetrators that were arrested in Banten and West Java Province on Thursday as many as eight people. One of them died because they fought back when police arrested them. At 05:00 am, special Detachment (Densus) 88 arrested suspected terrorist named Suryadi Masud (SM) or Abu Ridho in a hotel of Kampung Pesanggrahan, East Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
Then on 08:10 am, Densus 88 raided one terrorist with initials M in Pandeglang, Banten. In other place that still in Pandeglang on 1:24 pm, a terrorist with initials AJ was arrested. On 01:08 pm in Ciputat, South Tangerang, Densus 88 also arrsted terrorist initials BEP. And the remaining four terrorists suspects, were arrested in Street Lingkar Selatan, Ciwandan sub-District, Cilegon, Bante at 12:00 pm on thurday (March 23th). Name of terrorists with initial AS, IP, AM, and NK.
Martinue explained four suspected terrorists were arrrested in Cilegon to ran away after knew their friends in Bekasi ad Pandeglang were arrested by Densus 88. However Densus able to nabbed them immediately. "A suspected terrorist initials NK was killed due to trying to fought back. While three other collegues, namely the US, IP, and AM were arrested.
