REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) has sent a letter to the providers of gay application, both in Android and iOS platform, and asked Play Store and App Store to banned same-sex dating application.

"We hoped Play Store and App Store will give their response within seven days," Kemenkominfo spokesman Noor Iza said to Republika.co.id, Thursday (15/9).

Noor explained that the letter was sent based on the recommendation and agreement by the panel team for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) application. "LGBT applications are promoting deviant sexual behaviour. We have to banned it," Noor said.

However, Noor realized it will took long process to remove the applications from Play Store and App Store.

Noor added, blocking the application is not as easy as deleting an account. "In addition, an attempt to block the application is our first time."

Meanwhile, National Police found 18 applications used by perpetrators as well as victims to communicate with each other. In the case of Bogor based male prostitution ring, police said pimp AR was using gay app to introduce his network to customers E.
