REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has offered Independence Day Promo by giving a special tariff for all commercial executive and business classes. This program offered in order to commemorate the Indonesia's 71st Independence Day.

Manager of Public Relations of PT KAI Division III South Sumatra, Aida Suryanti said the Freedom Promo is valid for Limeks Sriwijaya Kertapati route Tandjungkarang and Sindang Marga Train route Kertapati-Lubuk Linggau.

''Special tariff to enliven the anniversary of Independence can be enjoyed with only Rp 17 thousand,'' she said at Palembang, on Thursday.

According to Aida, Freedom Promo tariff is valid only for one day on August 17, 2016. Booking or ticket purchases start from August 11 to 17, 2016.

Residents who want to get a promo ticket can make a reservation at the sales counter at the station, contact center 121, KAI Access applications, internet reservation, and ticket sales at external PT KAI. PT KAI has allocated 71 promo tickets for each carriage.

This promo tickets can't be canceled/refund, and can't be combined with other promotional programs.

For passengers who already have a booking code must check in and print boarding passes at the Check-In Counter at the station which applied Check-In Kiosk system. Aida hopes this promo program will increase residents and tourists to travel by train, so it will reduce congestion and air pollution.
