Development of Cisolok-Cisukarame geothermal to cost Rp3 trillion

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- PT Jabar Rekind Geothermal, holder of the geothermal concession in Cisolok-Cisukarame, Sukabumi District said development of the geothermal reserve would cost around Rp3 trillion.

PT Jabar Rekind Geothermal is a subsidiary of PT Jasa Sarana, which is owned by the West Java regional administration.

Ari Putranto, the president of PT Jabar Rekind Geothermal said the company was proud for being awarded the project, making PT Jasa Sarana as the first regional administration company (BUMD) in Indonesia to have business in geothermal energy development.

He said exploration in Cisolok-Cisukarame would be carried out in cooperation with PT Jabar Energi, (a subsidiary of PT Jasa Sarana) and PT Roda Drilling Nusantara (RDN) under a consortium named Jabar Drilling Nusantara.

"Drilling would start in September 2016 using rig," he said.

He said it would take 35-40 days drilling a well as deep as 2,000 meters, therefore, this year the company hopes to drill 12 wells over the 15.5 hectare concession area.

He said the company will sell geothermal it would produce to the national power utility company PLN to be processed into power.

Its commercial of delivery (COD) target is in the first semester of 2020 for 30 years, he said.

Meanwhile, Operational Director of PT RDN Wisnu Wikrama Wardhana guaranteed that exploration would not cause damage to the environment.

All types of equipment are certified by competent agency, he said, adding,"We follow the standard of procedure.
