REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN -- Mount Sinabung in Karo District, North Sumatra Province, erupted again on Tuesday at 10.19 am local time, spewing clouds of hot ash, a worker of the volcano's monitoring post said.

The clouds of hot ash moved towards south and southeast with a distance of about 1,000 meters and towards east with a distance of about 2,500 meters, said M.Nurul Asrori from the local Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center ( PVMBG ).

Asrori said the height of the ash spewed by the volcano could not exactly be calculated because the air was blanketed by fog.

The previous eruption of Mount Sinabung on Saturday killed seven residents of Gamber Village in Simpang Empat Subdistrict, Karo District, and injured two others.
